The Fairfield Arts and Convention Center proudly presents the Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts Artist Series, which features the best of music, comedy, dance, theater and something for the entire family. Coming off the very successful inaugural 2009-10 Artist Series, the Center is enjoying a successful 2010-11 Artist Series, again presenting national touring performances at the Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts that continues to amaze and entertain Southeastern Iowa.

The 2010-11 Sondheim Artist Series, which kicked off with the hilarious comedy, the Water Coolers and featured the sold out Glenn Miller Orchestra and the sold out Street Beat percussion show, the Kenya Safari Acrobats, Forever Plaid and the sold out Patsy Cline tribute show, and that was just the first six shows of the 16 show Series.

The 2011 portion of the Artist Series featured organist Christopher Houlihan on the Barhydt Organ; the sold out Gregory Popovich's Comedy Pet Theater and his rescue-pet performers and eye-popping juggling; the sold out Spencers: Theater of Illusion, Montana Repertory Theater's Bus Stop, the warm and affecting hit comedy that examined the many faces of love; Craicmore's contemporary traditional Celtic music; Cedar Rapids Symphony and Orchestra Iowa; Ricky Nelson Remembered, featuring Matthew and Gunnar Nelson singing their dad's hit songs; Neil Diamond Tribute tells the story of Diamond's life through his own songs performed by Branson's Tribute Artist of the Year; Soprano Deborah Raymond returns to Fairfield for a concert featuring a hilarious piece on a Julia Chiles recipe; and the Artist Series concluded with the ultimate "Girls Night Out" performance of Divapalooza.

The 2011-12 Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts Artist Series will be announced soon. The upcoming Artist Series, which will kick off in September and go through May, 2012, will offer a variety of high quality music, comedy, dance, family entertainment. The Fairfield Arts and Convention Center will continue to be the place that Fairfield area residents and people from across Southeast Iowa will come for rich and diverse entertainment.
